In our efforts to produce top quality crops and livestock, we use state of the art technology to ensure efficient and environmentally sound farming practices. We frequently adopt new technologies that allow us to save on costs while maximizing yield outputs.
Technology has changed rapidly and is continuing to progress every day and we are dedicated to keeping up with the latest inventions in farming, and investing in proven equipment and aides. At Livingston Family Farms, we utilize all facets of technology we can to improve our crops, and remove the negative effects on the environment. Whether we are using yield mapping to analyze the different variables of a given field, or auto-steer on our vehicles to improve efficiency , or even writing prescriptions for our fields, technology is helping us to produce better results year after year.
We also operate using no-till farming for more resilient soil, and our only form of irrigation is center pivot irrigation. We feel that using no-till on our operation allows us to preserve soil moisture and conserve the soil, preventing erosion issues. Center pivots are much more efficient when it comes to the application of water to our crops. GPS and variable rate technology has also allowed us to preserve water while still raising high quality crops.
This new technology has allowed us to become better stewards of the land and environment, and allowed us to save on input cost while maximizing our yield potential.
